추억의 뉴욕 서브웨이

최근 한국은 70년대로 돌아가서 씁슬한 과거의 맛을 되새김하고 있는듯 합니다.보통 과거는 비록 힘들고 고통스러웠어도 우리에게 추억으로 남고 그때를 그리워할때가 많습니다. 유럽의 20년대도 결코 행복한 시절은 아니었겠지만 주인공이 밤이되면 오래된 택시를 타고 20년대의 예술가들을 만나는 우디 알렌이 감독해서 아카데미상 까지 받은 영화 "Midnight in Paris" 는 여러번 보아도 우리 마음에 언제나 흐뭇함을 선사합니다.

뉴욕에서는 매년 12월이 되면 1930년대 운행하던 서브웨이 기차가 일주일에 하루씩 운행됩니다. 이미 당시의 사람들은 이세상을 대부분 떠났지만 그때를 느껴보려고 많은 사람들이 이 추억의 기차를 탑니다. 어제는 저도 이 기차를 만나는 기회를 얻었습니다.

혹시나 이 기차를 타고 1930년대로 갈수있지 않을까 하는 기대를 갖고 말입니다. 잘못내려서 1970년대 서울로 가지는 않겠지요?

 

Holiday Nostalgia Train!

Recently, Korea has returned to the 70s and is reminiscing about its bitter past. Usually, the past, although difficult and painful, remains a memory for us, and we often miss that time. The 1920s in Europe may not have been a happy time. Still, the movie "Midnight in Paris" directed by Woody Allen, which won an Academy Award, in which the main character rides an old taxi at night and meets artists from the 1920s, always brings joy to our hearts no matter how many times we watch it.

In New York, a subway train that ran in the 1930s runs once a week every December. Most people from that time have passed away, but many ride this train of memories to feel that time.

They hope to ride this train and return to the 1930s. They won't get off at the wrong time and end up in Seoul in the 1970s.
